In what seems like the blink of an eye, another year is gone.
We’ve survived yet another trip around the sun. While it’s still 365 days, the rotation seems to spin faster and faster every year. My resolution this year was not to make any resolutions, and I held to that. You can’t fail if you have no goals to meet, right?
BUT, if I made the resolution to not make a resolution, then I guess by default I did make a resolution, thereby failing the resolutions once again. Ugh. Oh well. As always, it’s the thought that counts. How did your resolutions go if you made any? I hope they went well.
I do have a good resolution ( a realistic one) for 2026 – That’s to write more on this blog. Perhaps there might even be something relevant at some point! I know that’s a big statement, but we’ll see. Anyway, 2025 wasn’t horrible, but it did go by way too fast.

I have lots in store for 2026:
I got some good traveling in this year and found some great pizza along the way, so look for some Pizza Travels posts coming soon (I’m WAY behind with getting things posted).
I got a new flamethrower for Christmas, so that may bring some fun adventures.
I started a record label in 2025 (Slice Pirate Music). I’ve got some new music projects coming for the new year that should be pretty cool.
I have a new pizza book set for release soon. I’m hoping to get a few new books out in 2026, so look for those.
Those are the biggies (at least for right now). I do plan to write more about local topics to tie in with other promotional pizza and music things I’m working on. While it’s not blatantly obvious on here, there is a method to my madness that I’m hoping to make more clear in the future. That plan is supporting local restaurants (specifically pizza), as well as up and coming music artists.
My life is usually going multiple directions at once, so I need to narrow things in a bit and get more focused so I’m not so discombobulated. As a side note, I love the word “discombobulation.” What I love even more is the word “recombobulation.” In the Milwaukee, Wisconsin airport there is a spot just past the security checkpoint known as the Recombobulation Area, as seen below. I think we all need to recombobulate every once in a while!

As the year comes to a close, it’s good to reflect, but it’s also good to reset. Figure out what matters in your world and focus on that. Don’t give attention to the things that don’t matter as they just eat away at the precious time that we seem to have less of each year. And eat more pizza,. You can’t go wrong with that.
May your 2026 be cheesy, saucy, and generously topped!
I hope the new year brings you everything you want, unless it’s an anchovy and cucumber pizza. Then we might need to have a talk.
Happy New Year!
