If you drive a vehicle, please read this...
Wherever you live in the world, and whether you ride a skateboard, a bike, a motorcycle, a car, a truck, or even a shopping cart at the grocery store for that matter, what I’m about to tell you is extremely important.
We all know (or at least I hope we do) that when we pull out of a driveway or parking lot, or when we stop at an intersection, we are supposed to look both ways before proceeding into traffic. Unfortunately, not everyone does this.
You are supposed to look BOTH ways (left and right) when pulling out, but I frequently see drivers who look right, but don’t look left. They start to enter the traffic way THEN decide to look left at which time they quickly realize someone is barrelling down upon them.
While I appreciate that drivers look to the right, I’m not quite sure why it’s so hard to also look left. I’ve already given up on hoping drivers will come to complete stop, but at least have the decency to look first before entering in front of me.
I live on a corner, so I see this every day. If you’re wondering why this bothers me so much, it’s because I’ve almost been run over multiple times when walking or biking and I’ve almost been involved in far too many collisions in the car.
Pay attention to this when you’re out and about. Once you see it, you can’t unsee because it happens everywhere, nearly every day. Perhaps it’s inattention, maybe it’s just ignorance, but whatever it is, it’s really annoying, and it’s dangerous.
If this is you, please stop driving like you’re the only car on the road. I have better things to do with my money than pay an insurance deductible because of someone else’s stupid mistake.

Look left, look right, then look left again before pulling into traffic!
