Halloween Pizza Magic

Once upon a time in a small town not far from the city, Halloween night arrived with more than just ghosts and goblins roaming the streets. The local pizzeria was having a Halloween pizza party that was in full swing, but unbeknownst to the restaurant owner, one of his employees was a witch! The unknown witch told the owner, “It’s been a busy day. Go home, I’ll clean up and lock up.” The owner agreed and left to his apartment that was right above the pizzeria. The witch waited until everyone else was gone for the night, then concocted a magical spell with this chant:

Pizza Pizza, with cheesy bubbles. Lets have fun but not cause trouble.

As the clock struck midnight, something magical happened: the pizza ingredients began to stir to life! The pepperoni, with a mischievous twinkle in its eye, rolled off the counter and bounced towards the garlic knots, declaring, “Yeah! One pepperoni to go!”

The garlic knots, always the life of the party, twirled and whipped up a dance routine, spinning in circles like little doughy tornadoes. The block of mozzarella cheese stretched big, as if waking up from a long slumber. Meanwhile, the bell peppers, bright and colorful, decided to form a band. “Let’s make it hot!” they chirped, creating a catchy rhythm that made the olives groove. The mushrooms, feeling a bit funky, joined in, throwing around jokes that were so “punny” they had everyone rolling on the floor with laughter. “Why does Mr. Mushroom always get invited to parties? Because he’s a real FUNGI!”

As the ingredients reveled in their newfound freedom, they all met in the middle of the kitchen. “What should we do now, asked the cheese?” The pepperoni said, “Let’s go scare the pizza maker.” The witch reminded them, “I only use my magic for silliness, so be nice!” The cheese said, “How about a prank? Would that be okay?” The witch said, “Yes, but nothing mean.” The ingredients all agreed as they went outside. They climbed up the fire escape, then entered the cook’s apartment through an open window.

Once inside, the found the cook sound asleep on his couch after a busy night at work, still wearing his beloved chef hat. The peppers thought it would be funny to draw a mischievous mustache on the sleepy chef made of sauce, while the mushrooms removed the cook’s chef hat, replacing it with the witch’s hat. The other ingredients ran back to the restaurant, gathering a bunch of empty pizza boxes which they brought back to pile all around him. All the ingredients were giggling so loud it was surprising they didn’t wake up the chef. “Okay ingredients, you’ve had your fun”, said the witch. “It’s time to go back to the kitchen.” With giggles and glee, the ingredients slipped back downstairs.

The witch said “That was fun. Maybe we’ll do this again next year” as another chant was invoked to reverse the spell. “Pizza Pizza, no more cheesy bubbles. We had fun but did not cause trouble.” The witch cleaned up, then called it a night, locking the door.

As the cook awoke the next morning, he scratched his head in confusion, trying to figure out what happened while he slept. Little did he know, there was a magical pizza party happening right under his nose. He shrugged his shoulders and said, “No time to worry about this. It’s time to make more pizzas”, then headed downstairs to do what he does best.

The moral of this story is be respectful to your pizza ingredients because they know where you sleep
