All I Want For Christmas is Pizza

Sung to the tune of Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas is You…”

But really, all I want for Christmas is an extra cheese pizza.

Dear Santa,

I hope this letter finds you well. How’s Mrs. Claus? I hope she is well too. But enough about your jolly life; let’s get to the real reason I’m writing – my Christmas list!

I know you have a long list of kids to cater to, many of whom probably have multiple pages detailing their requests for the holiday season. I can only imagine how many bicycles, smart phones, and video games you’ll be tossing into the sleigh this year. But I’m going to make it easy for you this year: All I want for Christmas is a hot, fresh, delicious, extra cheese pizza delivered from your magical North Pole pizzeria.

Yes, you read that right. No toys, no electronics, and not even the trip to Tahiti I’ve desired for a long time (though I wouldn’t be upset if you still got me that). I just want that legendary Christmas pizza that has only been experienced by a select few around the world. It’s not too much to ask, is it?

I know you have a lot on your plate, but I do hope you’ll consider my humble wish. I’ve been a good (well, mostly good) person this year. I’ve shared my pizza knowledge with friends, I’ve made a fairly decent attempt at adulting, and I didn’t get arrested in any third world countries.

This is better than past years, right?

Thank you for considering my tasteful request. I promise to be extra good until Christmas—though I can’t make any promises afterward. While you’re on the way, feel free to take a slice for yourself if you get hungry. I’ll understand.

With cheesy wishes and pizza dreams,

~ Marty ~

PS: If you could also bring some napkins and plates, it’d be greatly appreciated. Your tip of cookies and milk will be left on the table.

One of the first years we had kids we learned that making a “traditional” Christmas dinner with turkey and the et-ceteras was way too much work after a night of wrapping and assembling. The next year on Christmas Eve we ordered pizza with plenty leftover for the next day. Our “traditional” Christmas dinner for all these last forty-plus years has been pizza.
