Interstellar Contact, Coming Soon!

An unknown object is rapidly approaching Earth with an expected arrival sometime around November, 2025. Could this be the first extraterrestrial contact?

First of all, I don’t believe this is the “first” contact, if it actually happens. Aliens were here before, and probably are here now. If something wants to visit us from somewhere else, it would be the first publicly acknowledged contact. With that tidbit aside, the story is actually fairly interesting.

The interstellar visitor heading toward Earth, named 3I/ATLAS, is only the 3rd object ever observed having come from outside of our solar system. It’s traveling faster than anything seen before, it’s extremely large (like New York City big) and whatever it is, it’s on track to come see us. The problem is, no one knows what it is.

Some astronomers say it’s a comet or an asteroid, but it’s not totally consistent with either based on it’s velocity, size, and origin. If it’s not being readily identified as a comet or asteroid, many are asking the question about what it actually is. Some in the scientific community are calling it an alien mother ship, even going as far as saying it will be an attack on our planet.

If it’s a vehicle, we obviously don’t know if the visitors have malicious intent (yet), but whatever it is, it’s real news that has been featured in real publications. This could potentially be the biggest story in the history of humanity, yet most people either don’t know about it, or just don’t care.

If Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is worked up about illegal visitors in our country now, what are they going to think when the interstellar illegal aliens show up here?
