I don’t usually write about chain pizza restaurants, but Johnny Brusco’s is worthy of a mention!
Down south in the hills of Northeast Arkansas you’ll find the fun little city of Bentonville. Known as the mountain bike capital of the world, the city boasts 140 miles of trails for riders of all skill levels. If you ride mountain bikes, the area should be on your “must visit” list.
For Walmart enthusiasts, Bentonville also has the claim of being their world headquarters (and the Walmart Museum). Yes, you read that correctly – there is a Walmart museum (and it’s actually worth checking out if you’re ever around there).
There is a very diverse population there from all over the world, which means there is also a wide variety of food options, but there is obviously only one choice that catches my attention – pizza.

I’ve eaten at Johnny Brusco’s a few times in the past, but it was a long while ago, and it was not at this one (They also have other locations in Arkansas, Alabama, and Florida. When I saw there was one in Bentonville, I had to partake because I remember it was pretty tasty. In this case at least, my fading memory did not deceive me.

They offer tasty traditional New York style pizza at decent prices for what you get. National chain restaurants don’t usually do New York style very well, but Johnny Brusco’s definitely does. A real New Yorker would be impressed with it, which is surely a good compliment. You don’t want to hear an angry New Yorker yelling at the wait staff because they lied to customers about being a New York style pizzeria, but then again, maybe you do. Entertainment with dinner is always fun, but it won’t happen here.
If you come across a Johnny Brusco’s in your travels, they have enough on the menu to make everyone in the family happy. They’ve got lasagna, wings, subs, wraps, and more, but why would you want to eat anything other than pizza? The other stuff looked good, but I can only vouch for the pizza.
Ultimately, it’s up to you to decide whether it’s good or not, so let me know if you’ve been there, or if you go, let me know what you think!
